Cardell Walker Biography
The essence of an artist is to perfect the expression of their soul in a
manner that transcends all creative barriers. I am a true artist, my
mission is to be the most prolific and influential artist in this new age
and time. As an artist, producer and all around Renaissance man, I am
creating a new history for future artists.
My art pushes past its breaking point and beyond to redefine all limits
and standards. Knowing no boundaries, the endless possibilities of my
work comes from always striving to reach the next plateau of mastery and
constantly searching within my own deepest levels of consciousness. My
work is a complete communication of the balance between mind state,
brainpower and spirituality. My use of varied mediums and textures from
pencil on paper to acrylic on wood canvases, as well as graphic design
and sculpting, display my expansive talents.
My art allows me to span the universe, completing my own puzzle, standing
for my own values and convictions, placing my images forward, assembling
my own network timeline towards completing my life goals of longevity,
prosperity and a healthy balance of successful productivity and
inspiration. This is a creative release which function causes time to
seamlessly stop.
I grew up in Central Los Angeles, where
I was raised by my parents who are of African, German, Haitian, Irish and
American Indian descent. I have expressed myself artistically since the
age of 3 years old. My natural talents have been honed with traditional
art training. I graduated from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California
in 1992, and also attended the Academy
of Art in San Francisco, where I received
training in computers and graphic design.
My first one man show in December 1991, “Fresh Paintings”
insightfully explored the tension that led up to the eventual riots the
following year. After my ”Malcolm X “ show in March of 1993,
I entered into a new area of exploration, trading my show stopping images
of brutality and ignorance found within racial turmoil, and entering the
smoke filled clubs, housing some of the world’s greatest music
geniuses. This series of images reflects the American Jazz Movement in
the show entitled” Breakin Down Jazz Domes.” Based on the
recent events of 911, I was compelled to create a special dedication
series that begins to understand the complexity of tragedy in the terror
of war.
