Charly Palmer
Charly Palmer is rapidly becoming one of Americas important emerging artists. Born in Fayette, Alabama and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Charlys current body of work addresses the historical, political and socially-relevant issues of strength and survival which still dominate the American agenda.
At the request of curator, Terrell Tilford, Charly answered the call to address various issues which pertain to the Latin American experience, a frame of reference outside of Charlys own experiences as an African American. These works are exemplified in the current show, mud.
His current feeling that the more things change, the more they remain the same permeates his paintings, while unapologetically infusing the truth of what being an American means. Now living in Stone Mountain, Georgia, Charly has had several exhibitions with Tilford Art Group, including his highly-successful solo show last year, Truth Be Told.
